Rising Edge: Efficient DPS, charge parry, able to reposition well, good for hitting boss points high and low. Raging Waltz: Fantastic PA for chasing and generating gear, dagger's bread and butter for sure. Crafting it later will make it cost almost no PP and allow you to choose a direction to spin, or choose not to spin at all, improving your speed. Wild Rhapsody: I believe crafting is better, but it's a handy PA to rotate tech arts with Orchestra on bosses, as you can move slightly during the spin. Facet Folia: While not very strong, it provides iframes throughout its animation, and chases on the last hit; if you get the TD Air Chase ring this PA will also chase, making it easier to connect.

Use at your own risk. Rumbling Moon: Great for AOE and repositioning yourself, and fairly comfortable for rotating tech arts. The taller you are, the further it flies, so adjust accordingly. It's also useful for gaining a little height to a boss's weak point.

Unfortunately it requires you to cancel out of it with weapon action, dodging does not work. Meteor Fist: Necessary for big fist spamming once you can get your hands on the Gear Experience knuckles. This weapon is really quite pathetic in the damage department. I could be wrong on these recommendations, katana isn't something I enjoy, just using memory. Kestrel Rampage: Not so great until crafting, but when it's able, becomes a fantastic PA for dumping out damage. Immortal Dove: If you're able to hit a weak point with it, deals loads of DPS if you're quick with your combos. Its timing is still a little awkward for me. Satellite Cannon: A strong PA that has a very long windup, but it sure is satisfying to use; it's not the strongest, but is highly PP efficient if you can hit with it at full charge.

The caveat of this PA is that you often don't hit weak points for Advanced Precision Hit, however, Stationary Fire will apply if it is active at the moment of firing, regardless of the recoil after. If you can't get three or four hits consistently with a full charge, its efficiency is questionable. Divine Launcher: Nothing quite has the AOE as this for quickly eliminating mobs, but it may be preferable to have it crafted. The vehicle of choice for any Ranger that can afford it.

Cosmos Breaker: Great damage, great AOE, but it may be very difficult to get it to connect with its slow speed, so get up close. Be sure to dodge after firing, as you can't do anything after the shot animation for several seconds.

Time it right and you can parry attacks at the start of it. Final Nemesis: Great for pre-charging against a boss, as well as starting a Banishing Arrow combo. Banishing Arrow: The main way to deal damage to bosses, dealing amplified damage just like Volkraptor. Think of it as free damage when initating combat or somesuch. These are what you use to do damage in this game. Normal attacks are only for maintaining PP. PAs are more like combat skills while Techs are more like spellcasting. To use these, you have to press U, equip a weapon by dragging a weapon into the right slot on the right, and then equip the PAs next to the right weapon.

Techs can also be used from the subpalette bar. Most of the time you can only use PAs for weapons of your main and sub class like you need to be Hunter main or sub to use Sword PAs.

Techs can only be used by Techers, Force, Bouncers, and Summoners. To learn a PA or Tech, you have to use a disk to learn it. You learn higher level more damage PAs by using higher level disks.

There are a few ways to get these disks…. Simply play the game. Some are more rare though and are only in certain maps that you can only play later on. You can hop by a visiphone and buy up to level 10 disks from other players. These might be a little pricey though.

The second floor has a photon exchange shop you can trade photon crystals for some of the more rare PAs I talked about. SEGA added this in recently February ish.

You can trade in 20 excubes for any level 17 PA. This made some of the rare ones really easy to get.
